Hello! My name is Michelle, although most of my family and friends call me Shelly. I am a stay-at-home mom to three kiddos (four if you count my hubby), my 7 year old daughter, 4.5 year old son and 2 year old son. We also have a dog, Kita and two kitties, Cheddar and Jack.
I married my high school sweetheart and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in this crazy thing called life! This blog is only possible because of the wonderful husband and father that he is. Running makes me so happy and he’s so good about keeping an eye on the kids so that I can do the things I enjoy.
I wasn’t super-athletic when I was younger. I did some tap/ballet, played softball here and there and enjoyed riding bikes with friends but I couldn’t stand running! I “ran like a girl” but, hey, I’m a girl! I couldn’t stand when the time of year in gym class would roll around when we had to do the Presidential Fitness Test, and the part I disliked the most was the running part.
After having 3 children and seeing some other friends post things about running and races and reading about Couch to 5K, I decided to give it a shot. It wasn’t great at first and I hurt my knee and stopped for a couple months…but then I picked it up again and haven’t looked back.
I started this blog in hopes of inspiring others, to share what I have learned about training, nutrition and everything in between. I hope that you will enjoy reading about all of my running adventures 🙂
